Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • evaporated milk
  • chocolate chips - 1 c
  • powdered sugar - 2 c
  • whipping cream - 1 pt
  • softened butter - 1/2 c
  • Neapolitan ice cream - 1/2 gal
  • graham crackers, crushed - 1 item
  • or 4 bananas - 3 item
  • real butter - 1/3 c

How to make banana split cake:

Mix together graham crackers, butter and sugar to form crust. Press crust into pan. Slice bananas and layer over crust. Slice ice cream 1/2-inch thick and place over bananas. Sprinkle with nuts. Place in freezer until firm.

Melt butter and chocolate chips over low heat; add powdered sugar and milk. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Cool and pour over mixture and chill. Whip the whipping cream; add 1/4 cup powdered sugar and the vanilla. Pour over all. Freeze and serve in squares.
