Banana split
Ingredients/Components
- graham cracker crumbs - 1 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- butter - 1/2 c
- evaporated milk - 1/2 c
- chocolate chips - 1 c
- powdered sugar - 2 c
- chopped walnuts - 1 c
- large container Cool Whip - 1 item
- Neapolitan ice cream - 1/2 gal
- or 4 bananas - 3 item
How to make banana split:
Cover bottom of 11 x 15-inch pan with cracker crumbs. Slice bananas crosswise; layer over crumbs. Slice ice cream in 1/2-inch slices and place over bananas. Sprinkle ice cream with walnuts; freeze until firm. Melt chocolate chips and butter. Add powdered sugar and milk. Cook (bring to a boil); take from heat. Add vanilla. Cool chocolate mixture; pour over ice cream. Freeze until firm.Spread Cool Whip over chocolate layer; top with more graham cracker crumbs. Store in freezer. Remove 10 minutes before serving. Will keep for several weeks. Serves about 25.
