  • flour
  • buttermilk - 2/3 c
  • baking powder
  • baking soda
  • shortening - 2/3 c
  • ginger - 1/2 tsp
  • mashed bananas
  • allspice - 1 tsp

How to make banana spice cake:

Sift dry ingredients in large bowl. Add shortening, milk and bananas. Beat for 2 minutes. Add eggs; beat. Pour into 2 greased and waxed paper lined 9-inch pans. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.
