Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 2 c
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- egg yolks - 3 item
- egg whites - 3 item
- dash of salt - 1 item
- whole egg - 1 item
How to make banana pudding:
Combine sugar, flour and salt in top of double boiler. Mix 1 egg and 3 egg yolks. Save whites for topping. Stir in milk. Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly until thickened. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Put small amount of custard in 1 1/2-quart casserole. Layer vanilla wafers and bananas. Add 1/3 custard for each layer. Makes 3 layers and end with custard.Topping: Beat egg whites until stiff. Add 1/4 cup sugar gradually; mix well. Beat until stiff peaks form. Pile on top and brown at 425°.
