Banana nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- all-purpose flour, sifted
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/3 c
- ripe banana, mashed - 1 c
- pecans, chopped - 1/2 c
How to make banana nut bread:
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with banana, blending well after each addition. Stir in nuts. Pour into well-greased 9 1/2 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake in moderate oven at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes or until done. Remove from pan; cool on rack. Slice when cool.
