Baked ziti
Ingredients/Components
- egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
- garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
- pepper
- Parmesan cheese - 1 Tbsp
- oregano - 1 tsp
- shredded Mozzarella cheese - 16 oz
- parsley - 1 Tbsp
- Ricotta or cottage cheese - 2 c
- ziti, cooked - 16 oz
- or 1 1/2 jars spaghetti sauce - 32 oz
How to make baked ziti:
Cover bottom of pan (9 x 11-inch) with a thin layer of sauce. In a large bowl, combine approximately 1/2 of sauce with cottage cheese, 1/2 Mozzarella cheese, parsley, egg, oregano, garlic, pepper and Parmesan cheese. Mix together; then add ziti and mix. Spread in pan. Top with remaining sauce and Mozzarella cheese. Bake, covered, at 375° for approximately 60 minutes. Makes 8 servings.Recipe categories: Pasta, Main dish, Pasta, rice and grains.
