Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • firmly packed brown sugar - 2 c
  • margarine - 1 c
  • nuts optional - 1 item
  • white corn syrup - 1/2 c
  • popcorn - 6 qt

How to make baked caramel corn:

Melt butter, brown sugar, syrup and salt. Stir as it comes to a boil. Reduce heat and cook 5 more minutes without stirring. Remove from heat. Add vanilla. Pour over popcorn and mix well. Put into shallow pan and bake at 250° for 1 hour. Remove and cool. Break apart and store in a tightly covered container.

Tips: Top of Tupperware cake taker when full is 6 quarts. Try not to get any "old maids"; they're not good for old teeth.
