Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 1/2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- sifted cake flour
- nuts, chopped - 1 c
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- egg, well beaten - 1 item
- hot, thick applesauce - 1 c
- raisins, chopped and floured - 1 c
How to make applesauce cake:
Sift flour once and measure. Add soda, salt, cinnamon and cloves; sift together. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, raisins and nuts. Add flour alternately with hot applesauce. Beat after each addition. Pour into a greased loaf pan (7 x 5 x 3-inch). Bake in a 350° oven for 1 hour.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Low cholesterol.
