Apple walnut cobbler
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- evaporated milk - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- butter or margarine, melted - 1/3 c
- egg, well beaten - 1 item
- sifted all-purpose flour - 1 c
- ground cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- sugar, divided
- thinly sliced, peeled cooking apples - 4 c
- coarsely chopped walnuts, divided - 3/4 c
How to make apple walnut cobbler:
Place apples in a lightly greased 9-inch round cake pan. Combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 cup walnuts; sprinkle over apples. Sift together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder and salt. Combine egg, milk and butter; add to dry ingredients, mixing until smooth. Pour over apple mixture. Top with remaining nuts. Bake at 325° for 40 to 50 minutes or until top is golden brown. Yield: 6 to 8 servings. Excellent topped with whipped cream.Recipe categories: Desserts, Apple, Cobblers and crisps.
