Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 3/4
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- flour - 3/4 c
- stick margarine - 1/3 item
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- boiling water - 1/4 1/8
- Crisco - 1/4 c
- Pour into crust
- Add boiling water until all flour is blended
How to make apple pie with crumb topping:
Using pastry blender, cut shortening into flour and salt. Add boiling water until all flour is blended. To roll dough, use Saran Wrap on bottom and top, roll out, remove top layer of Saran Wrap. Flip dough onto pie pan. Remove other Saran Wrap. Very flaky with easy clean-up. Makes 9 inch crust.Apple Mixture: 6-8 apples, peeled, cored and sliced1/2 - 3/4 c. sugar1 tsp. cinnamon1 - 2 tsp. flour Blend dry ingredients, then mix with apples. Pour into crust.Crumb Top:1/2 c. flour1/4 c. sugar1/3 stick margarine Mix flour and sugar. Cut margarine into flour mixture. Place over apples.
