- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- water - 2 c
- apples - 6 item
- recipe for double crust pie - 1 item
How to make apple dumplings:
Syrup:1 c. sugar2 c. water1/2 tsp. cinnamon4 Tbsp. butter Wash and core apples. Leave whole and unpeeled. Mix butter, sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle evenly into the cavity of the 6 apples. Roll pastry and cut in squares large enough to cover apples. Wrap apples and seal.Syrup: Boil ingredients for 3 minutes. Arrange apples in shallow pan. Pour syrup over all and place in preheated 500° oven for 5 to 7 minutes. Reduce heat to 325° and bake 35 to 40 minutes.
