Apple butter

Ingredients/Components

• sugar
• cinnamon - 1 tsp
• vinegar - 1 c
• cloves - 1/2 tsp
• homemade or store bought unsweetened applesauce - 3 qt

How to make apple butter:

In a large roasting pan, combine applesauce and the other ingredients, blending thoroughly. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 2 1/2 hours or longer, until thick and dark. Makes 3 pints.

For lighter flavor, cut spices in half. This recipe makes a robust flavor.
