White bread plus
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt
- beaten egg - 1 item
- warm water - 1/2 c
- melted shortening - 1/2 c
- dry yeast - 2 pkg
- lukewarm water - 2 c
- flour more or less - 8 c
How to make white bread plus:
Dissolve the yeast in the 1/2 cup water. Let stand 10 minutes. Beat in remaining ingredients, except flour. Add flour gradually to desired consistency. Let rest 10 minutes. Knead on floured board for 10 minutes. Put in greased bowl; cover and let rise until double. Punch down and knead 2 more minutes. Shape into 3 or 4 loaves and let rise. Bake at 375° for 25 minutes.
