Vidalia onion casserole
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- chicken broth - 1 c
- grated cheese - 1/2 c
- can evaporated milk - 1 oz
- slivered almonds - 1/2 c
- bread crumbs seasoned - 1 c
- wedged onions, parboiled - 3 c
How to make vidalia onion casserole:
Melt butter; stir in flour, then broth and milk. Stir constantly until sauce begins to thicken and is smooth. Add drained onions, almonds and seasonings. Pour into greased 1 1/2-quart casserole dish. Cover with bread crumbs and cheese. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes. Serves 6.Recipe categories: Side dish, Vegetables, Casseroles.
