Ingredients/Components
- German chocolate cake mix - 1 item
- regular size bag Kraft caramels - 1 item
- chopped pecans
- large bag semi-sweet chocolate bits - 1 item
- small can evaporated milk not condensed - 1 item
How to make turtle cake:
Mix cake according to package directions. Pour 1/2 of mixture on greased (Pam) 10 x 14-inch cake pan. Bake 1/2 mixture at package heat for 10 minutes.In microwave or double boiler melt Kraft caramels and evaporated milk. Remove cake from oven, sprinkle evenly over top with pecans and chocolate bits, then cover with melted caramels. Pour in remainder of cake batter and finish baking cake approximately 20 to 30 minutes or until it is springy to the touch. Serve from the pan warm. No icing needed. Keep refrigerated and microwave, if desired, to re-heat inside.
