Turnip soup
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- heavy cream - 1 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- chicken stock - 6 c
- lemon zest - 1 item
- potatoes, chopped - 2 item
- medium turnips - 6 item
- rutabaga, chopped - 1 item
How to make turnip soup:
Melt butter in large pan. Saute onion; add peeled and chopped vegetables. Add chicken stock. Simmer 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Reserve 1 1/2 cup vegetables. Puree the rest. Return to vegetables; add cream. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.Grandpa Frank Kordsmeier loved this.
