Ingredients/Components

  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • heavy cream - 1 c
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • large onion, chopped - 1 item
  • chicken stock - 6 c
  • lemon zest - 1 item
  • potatoes, chopped - 2 item
  • medium turnips - 6 item
  • rutabaga, chopped - 1 item

How to make turnip soup:

Melt butter in large pan. Saute onion; add peeled and chopped vegetables. Add chicken stock. Simmer 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Reserve 1 1/2 cup vegetables. Puree the rest. Return to vegetables; add cream. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
