Toffee squares
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 C
- brown sugar - 1 C
- butter - 1 C
- egg - 1 item
How to make toffee squares:
Beat until light and fluffy the butter and brown sugar. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Add the dry ingredients.Spread batter in a 10 x 15-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove from oven, spread at once 1/2 lb. sweet chocolate. Sprinkle on 1 C. chopped nuts.
Cut bars while warm.
Makes 56 bars.
For the chocolate I put 6 Hershey bars on while bars are warm and it spreads easily or melt 2 C. semi-sweet chocolate chips.
