  • sugar - 2 c
  • vinegar - 1 c
  • alum - 1/2 tsp
  • pickling salt - 1 Tbsp
  • mixed spices - 1 Tbsp
  • chunk style cucumbers - 1 item

How to make sweet pickles:

Pack jar with cucumbers. Heat vinegar, alum, pickling salt and mixed spices. Heat and pour over pickles. Finish filling jar with hot water; seal. Two weeks before using, pour off liquid. To it, add sugar and heat. Pour over pickles. Cool and eat.
