Sweet and sour meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 1/3 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 1/2 tsp
- chopped onion - 2 Tbsp
- soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
- hamburger - 1 lb
- can pineapple chunks - 1 1/4
- dry bread crumbs - 1/2 c
- small green pepper, coarsely chopped - 1 item
How to make sweet and sour meatballs:
Make meatballs by cooking until brown the first 7 mixed ingredients. Cook over medium heat for 20 minutes or bake at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes. Drain fat from meatballs; do not use. Mix brown sugar and cornstarch in skillet. Stir in pineapple (with syrup), vinegar and soy sauce. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Reduce heat. Add meatballs. Cover; simmer, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes. Stir in green pepper. Cover; simmer until crisp-tender, 5 minutes.Recipe categories: Pineapple, Main dish, Ground beef.
