Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1/4 c
  • oil - 1/3 c
  • boiling water - 2 c
  • warm water - 1/2 c
  • bread flour - 6 6
  • dark molasses - 1/2 c
  • yeast - 2 pkg
  • rye flour - 2 c

How to make swedish rye bread:

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Place in mixer and using a dough hook, add the remaining ingredients. Turn out on floured board and knead for 10 minutes. Shape into loaves, brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with salt. Bake at 375° for 30 to 35 minutes.
