Sunshine salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- cold water - 2 c
- boiling water - 2 c
- heavy cream, whipped or 1 pkg - 1 c
- pineapple juice - 1 c
- shredded cheese - 1/2 c
- lemon jello - 1 pkg
- orange jello - 1 pkg
- bananas, diced - 2 item
- 2 can crushed pineapple, drained save the juice
- marshmallows, cut up or 40 miniature ones - 10 item
- Add cold water and set to cool
How to make sunshine salad:
Dissolve both packages of jello in boiling water. Add cold water and set to cool. Add fruit and marshmallows and pour in 9 x 15-inch pan. Chill until firm.Topping:1 egg, beaten2 Tbsp. flour2 Tbsp. butter1/2 c. sugar1 c. pineapple juice1 c. heavy cream, whipped or 1 pkg. Dream Whip or Cool Whip1/2 c. shredded cheese Combine in small saucepan the egg, butter, flour and sugar. Add pineapple juice. Cook, stirring, over low heat until thick. Let cool. Fold in whipped cream and spread over jello. Sprinkle cheese on top. Serves 8 to 10 for dessert.Recipe categories: Pineapple, Salads, Tropical fruits.
