Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • water
  • cooking oil - 1 Tbsp
  • soy sauce - 1/3 c
  • small can mushrooms - 1 item
  • beef bouillon cube - 1 item
  • bunch green onions, chopped fine - 1 item
  • medium onions, sliced thin - 2 item
  • celery, cut in 1-inch pieces - 2 c
  • cans bamboo shoots - 2 oz
  • round steak, sliced thin across grain - 1 lb

How to make sukiyaki:

Cook meat in oil over low heat until tender, but not browned. Add onions, mushrooms, celery, green onions and bamboo shoots. Cover and cook five minutes, stirring occasionally. Add and dissolve bouillon cube in the hot water. Add and combine remaining ingredients with meat. Cook for 15 minutes longer. Serve with rice. Makes 6 servings.
