Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- dash of salt - 1 item
- margarine - 1/2 c
- walnut halves - 4 c
- egg whites, stiffly beaten - 2 item
How to make sugared nuts:
Toast nuts in 325° oven until lightly browned. Fold sugar and salt into beaten egg whites and beat until soft peaks form. Fold toasted nuts into mixture. Melt margarine in 10 x 15 pan (large cookie sheet will work). Spread nut mixture over margarine. Bake in 325° oven about 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes until nuts are coated with browned meringue mixture and no margarine remains.Recipe categories: Desserts, Holiday, Lunch/snacks.
