Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- butter - 1 tsp
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- water - 3 Tbsp
- strawberries
- chopped rhubarb - 2 c
- pinch of cream of tartar - 1 item
- Drain and add strawberries in saucepan
How to make strawberry rhubarb pie:
Cover rhubarb with boiling water and let stand 15 minutes. Drain and add strawberries in saucepan. Add sugar, butter, water and cornstarch. Cook over low heat until it begins to thicken. Pour over berries and rhubarb in pie baked shell. Put meringue on pie. Bake until brown.Meringue:2 egg whites, beaten stiff pinch of cream of tartar6 Tbsp. sugar Beat until peaks.
