  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • butter - 6 Tbsp
  • baking powder - 3 Tbsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • whipped cream - 1 item
  • strawberries - 1 qt
  • strawberry extract - 1 tsp

How to make strawberry pudding:

Cream butter and sugar thoroughly together; add egg (well beaten), strawberry extract, milk, sifted flour with powder and salt. Beat with a wooden spoon for 3 minutes. Turn into a large, well-greased mold. Cover and steam steadily for 3 hours. Turn out and serve with crushed strawberries and whipped cream. Other fruits may be used in place of strawberries.
