Ingredients/Components
- sifted flour - 3 c
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- sugar - 3/4 c
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- milk
- melted shortening - 2 Tbsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- granulated sugar - 1/3 c
- egg - 1 item
- flour - 2 c
- packed brown sugar - 1/3 c
- grated lemon peel - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- oil - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- chopped nuts - 1 c
How to make pecan bread:
Combine cream cheese, 1/3 cup granulated sugar and 1 egg, mixing until well blended. Combine dry ingredients. Add oil, milk, 2 eggs and peel, mixing just until moist. Fold in nuts.Spread 1 cup of batter into a greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Top with cream cheese mixture; cover with remaining batter. Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan.
