Steak and kidney pie
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- sliced onion - 1/4 c
- chuck beef - 1 lb
- large potatoes, pared and cubed - 2 item
- kidney beef - 1 lb
How to make steak and kidney pie:
Saute beef and kidney with onion in large skillet. Add salt and pepper. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 45 minutes. Add potatoes; return mixture to boiling and simmer covered for 20 minutes longer or until potatoes and meat are tender.Preheat oven to 425°. Prepare pastry. Roll out to an 8-inch circle. Turn beef and kidney into 1 1/2-quart casserole. Arrange pastry; crimp edges. Make air vents on top (about 6). Bake 20 minutes or until pastry is golden.
