Spanish rice
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- chili powder - 1 Tbsp
- ground beef - 1 lb
- mushrooms - 1/2 lb
- chopped green bell pepper - 1 c
- Accent - 1/2 tsp
- uncooked rice - 1 c
- powder - 1 clove,
- pork sausage - 1 lb
- 2 size - 1 can
- hot peppers to taste optional - 1 item
How to make spanish rice:
Cut and wash mushrooms; set aside. Mash both meats in pan over high heat; pour off enough drippings in another pan to lightly brown rice. Then add to meat the onions, pepper and garlic. Cook, stirring, until onions are clear; add tomatoes, chili powder, mushrooms, salt and pepper. Add rice to meat mixture. Pour in a 2-quart casserole dish. Bake at 350° until rice is tender, about 30 to 40 minutes.Recipe categories: Low protein, Low fat, Side dish.
