Spanish rice
Ingredients/Components
- water - 1/2 c
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- ground beef
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- tomato juice - 1 to
- cooked rice - 1 c
- diced onions - 1/2 c
- medium diced green peppers - 2 item
How to make spanish rice:
Brown onions lightly in shortening. Add meat. Break up particles so meat mixture is very fine. When brown, drain and add peppers, tomato juice and water. Add rice. Season to taste, stirring well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Let simmer about 30 minutes or until peppers are tender.Recipe categories: Low protein, Low fat, Side dish.
