  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • butter or margarine - 2 tsp
  • eggs, well beaten - 2 item
  • garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
  • dried oregano, crushed - 1 tsp
  • Parmesan cheese - 1/3 c
  • Mozzarella cheese, shredded - 1/2 c
  • cottage cheese - 1 c
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • onion, chopped - 1/2 c
  • spaghetti - 6 oz
  • green pepper, chopped - 1/4 c
  • can tomatoes - 1 oz
  • ground chuck or beef - 1 lb

How to make spaghetti pie:

Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Stir butter into hot spaghetti. Stir in Parmesan cheese and eggs. Form spaghetti mixture into a crust in a buttered 10-inch pie plate. Spread cottage cheese over bottom of crust. In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion and green pepper until vegetables are tender and the meat is browned. Drain off excess fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt; heat thoroughly. Turn the meat mixture onto the crust. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20 minutes. Sprinkle Mozzarella cheese on top. Bake 5 minutes longer or until the cheese melts. Serves 6.
