Spaghetti pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- margarine or butter - 2 Tbsp
- garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
- ground beef - 1 lb
- cottage cheese - 1 c
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- onion, chopped - 1/2 c
- dried oregano - 1 tsp
- spaghetti - 6 oz
- green pepper, chopped - 1/4 c
- can tomatoes - 1 oz
- Parmesan - 1/3 c
- shredded Mozzarella - 1/2 c
- well beaten eggs - 2 item
How to make spaghetti pie:
Preheat oven to 350°. Cook spaghetti according to package; drain (should have about 3 cups). Stir in butter into hot spaghetti. Stir in Parmesan cheese and eggs. Form mixture into crust in 10-inch pie plate. Spread cottage cheese over bottom of spaghetti crust.In skillet, cook ground beef (or turkey), onions and green pepper until vegetables are tender and meat brown; drain fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic powder; heat. Turn mixture onto spaghetti crust. Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese and bake 5 minutes more. Serves 6.
