South of the border salad
Ingredients/Components
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chili powder - 2 tsp
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- clove garlic - 1 item
- ground beef - 1 lb
- can garbanzo beans - 1 oz
- ground pork - 1 lb
- sliced olives - 1/2 c
- can green chilies, chopped - 1 oz
- can tomatoes, chopped - 1 1/2
- shredded Jack or Cheddar cheese - 1 c
- torn iceberg lettuce - 6 c
- chopped tomatoes, green pepper and avocado to garnish - 1 item
How to make south of the border salad:
Cook meats, onion and garlic until meat is browned and onion tender. Stir in flour, tomato sauce, undrained tomatoes, chilies and chili powder. Cook and stir until thickened. In salad bowl combine lettuce, beans and olives; toss. Top lettuce withRecipe categories: Low protein, Low fat, Salads.
