Sour cream cutout cookies
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- sour cream - 3/4 c
- flour - 4 c
- nutmeg - 3/4 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- softened margarine 2 sticks - 1 c
- additional flour and powdered sugar for rolling out dough - 1 item
How to make sour cream cutout cookies:
Sift together dry ingredients; set aside. Blend thoroughly margarine, sugar, eggs, vanilla and sour cream. Mix in flour mixture. Chill dough at least 1 hour.Mix together equal amounts of flour and powdered sugar to dust pastry board and rolling pin. This will keep the dough soft and not dry out so you can re-roll scrap dough.
Roll out dough, small amounts at a time. Cut out shapes and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 12 to 14 minutes, until lightly brown.
