Sour cream coffee cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- sour cream - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- chopped nuts
- brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
- water
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- sifted cake flour - 2 c
- margarine - 1 c
- Fold in sour cream and vanilla
How to make sour cream coffee cake:
Topping:1/2 c. chopped nuts1/2 tsp. cinnamon2 Tbsp. brown sugar Cream together margarine, sugar and eggs. Fold in sour cream and vanilla. Then fold in flour, baking powder and salt.Topping: Mix together nuts, cinnamon and brown sugar.
Grease and flour 9-inch tube pan. Spoon in half batter, cover with 1/2 topping; repeat. Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes. Cool before removing from pan. (Rectangular pan may be used.)Glaze (Optional):1 c. powdered sugar1 1/2 Tbsp. water1/4 tsp. vanilla Mix and spread on warm cake.
