Slow-cooked pepper steak
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- cold water - 1/2 c
- cooking oil - 2 Tbsp
- ground ginger - 1/4 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1 c
- soy sauce - 1/4 c
- garlic clove, minced - 1 item
- can tomatoes - 4 cut
- cooked noodles or rice - 1 item
- beef round steak - 1 to
- large green peppers, cut - 2 item
How to make slow-cooked pepper steak:
Cut beef into 3 x 1-inch strips; brown in oil in a skillet. Transfer to a slow cooker. Combine the next 7 ingredients; pour over beef. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours or until meat is tender. Add tomatoes and green peppers; cook on low for 1 hour longer. Combine the cold water and cornstarch to make a paste; stir into liquid in slow cooker and cook on high until thickened.
