- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1 tsp
- water - 2/3 c
- margarine or butter, softened - 2 Tbsp
- grated orange peel - 2 3
- Do not use 8 inch pie pan
- o 2 lemons - 1 item
How to make slices of lemon pie:
Prepare pie crust according to package directions for two-crust pie using 9 inch pie pan. Do not use 8 inch pie pan. Heat oven to 400°.Filling:2 c. sugar1/3 c. flour1/4 tsp. salt2/3 c. water2 Tbsp. margarine or butter, softened2 to 3 tsp. grated orange peel1 o 2 lemons3 eggs Peel and slice lemons 1/8 inch thick. Set aside. In large bowl combine sugar, flour and salt. Add water, margarine, eggs and orange peel; beat until well blended. Stir in lemon slices. Pour mixture into pie crust-lined pan. Top with second crust and flute; cut slits in several places. Bake at 400° for 35 to 45 minutes or until golden brown. Cool before serving. Garnish as desired.
