Seafood gumbo
Ingredients/Components
- flour - 1 c
- oil - 3/4 c
- bay leaf - 1 item
- can tomato paste - 1 item
- salt to taste - 1 item
- hot sauce - 1 tsp
- can tomatoes - 1 item
- chicken stock - 6 qt
- bell pepper, chopped - 1 item
- large onions - 4 item
- shrimp, peeled and deveined - 2 lb
- cut okra - 1 pt
- small bottle Worcestershire sauce - 1 item
- bunch celery - 1 item
- bunches green onions, chopped - 3 item
- dash of thyme - 1 item
- pods garlic, chopped - 3 item
How to make seafood gumbo:
Make roux with oil and flour, stirring constantly until dark brown. Add celery, onions, bell pepper and garlic to roux and cook until tender. Add roux and vegetables to stock and add okra. Add remaining ingredients and simmer. Add shrimp about 10 minutes before serving. Serve hot over rice. Add gumbo file.
