Scotch shortbread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- all-purpose flour
- 2 sticks butter - 1 c
How to make scotch shortbread:
Cream butter. Gradually add sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Combine flour and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Blend well. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to 11 x 17-inch rectangle 1/2-inch thick. Cut into 1-inch squares or diamonds. Transfer to cookie sheets. Prick cookies with a fork. Bake in preheated 300° oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove immediately to wire racks to cool. Yields about 70.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cookie and brownie, Bar cookie.
