Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- water - 2/3 c
- light corn syrup - 3/4 c
How to make salt water taffy:
Mix sugar, syrup, water, cornstarch, butter and salt in 2-quart pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring with a wooden spoon until 256°. Stir in vanilla and pour into buttered 8-inch pan. When cool, pull until light in color and stiff. Cut into small pieces and wrap in waxed paper.Recipe categories: Desserts, Candy, Gluten Free.
