Russian tea cakes
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- powdered sugar - 1/2 c
- finely chopped walnuts - 3/4 c
- butter, softened by standing at room temperature - 1 c
How to make russian tea cakes:
With a spoon, soften butter, gradually creaming in the sugar and vanilla. Next, sift together the flour and salt. Add walnuts to flour. Combine flour and butter mixtures. Refrigerate for about 1 hour. Roll in hands to 1-inch balls. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 400° for 20 minutes. Roll in powdered sugar while still warm.
