  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • vinegar - 1 tsp
  • sifted flour
  • box confectioners sugar - 1 item
  • Add other ingredients in order and mix thoroughly
  • oil 1 c

How to make red velvet cake:

Sift together dry ingredients. Add other ingredients in order and mix thoroughly. Bake in layer cake pans which have been greased and floured. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.Filling and Frosting:1 stick oleo1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 c. chopped nuts1 box confectioners sugar1/2 tsp. vanilla Let oleo and cream cheese soften at room temperature. Cream well. Add confectioners sugar and continue beating until creamy. Add vanilla and nuts. Spread on cake.
