Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2/3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- sifted flour - 2 c
- butter or shortening - 1 Tbsp
How to make pocketbook rolls:
Mix all dry ingredients together. Mix in shortening. Add milk, all at one time, then mix until all ingredients form balls. Knead lightly 2 or 3 minutes. Roll 1/4-inch thick. Cut with floured 2-inch biscuit cutter. Fold double and press edges together. Brush tops with melted butter. Cover; let rise in warm place for 20 minutes. Bake in hot oven (425°) for 10 minutes.
