Pineapple upside-down cake
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla
- granulated sugar - 3/4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- baking powder
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/3 c
- oleo - 2 Tbsp
- can pineapple slices - 1 oz
- liquid from pineapple - 2/3 c
- maraschino cherry halves - 1 item
How to make pineapple upside-down cake:
Drain pineapple. Melt oleo and brown sugar in bottom of 9 x 1 1/2-inch pan. Arrange pineapple and cherries in oleo and brown sugar.Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Beat oleo, sugar, egg and vanilla 1 minute. Add dry ingredients, slowly, to mixture. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
