  • vanilla
  • granulated sugar - 3/4 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • baking powder
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/3 c
  • oleo - 2 Tbsp
  • can pineapple slices - 1 oz
  • liquid from pineapple - 2/3 c
  • maraschino cherry halves - 1 item

How to make pineapple upside-down cake:

Drain pineapple. Melt oleo and brown sugar in bottom of 9 x 1 1/2-inch pan. Arrange pineapple and cherries in oleo and brown sugar.

Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Beat oleo, sugar, egg and vanilla 1 minute. Add dry ingredients, slowly, to mixture. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
