  • sugar - 1 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 1 c
  • brown sugar - 5 Tbsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • cream - 2 Tbsp
  • nuts, chopped - 1/2 c
  • butter, melted

How to make picnic cake:

Icing:3 Tbsp. butter, melted5 Tbsp. brown sugar2 Tbsp. cream1/2 c. nuts, chopped Beat eggs with rotary beater until thick. Add sugar slowly and beat well. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together; add to first mixture and beat well. Bring to boil the milk with butter and add this to other mixture. Bake in a greased pan for 30 minutes in a 350° oven. While cake is hot, spread with icing and return to broiler and brown.
