Peach cobbler
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- shortening - 1/3 c
- ice water - 2 Tbsp
- butter optional - 1 item
- fresh peeled sliced peaches - 5 c
How to make peach cobbler:
Pastry:1 c. flour1/2 tsp. salt2 Tbsp. ice water1/3 c. shortening Mix sugar, cinnamon and flour together. Layer in deep casserole dish the peaches, pastry and peaches.Pastry: Sift flour and salt together; cut in shortening with pastry blender until particles are size of peas. Sprinkle with water, 1 teaspoon at a time. Mix lightly with fork. Gather dough together with fingers; press into ball. Roll out on lightly floured dough board to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into 2-inch wide strips to fit in casserole dish. Layer peaches, pastry, peaches, pastry. You can dot with butter on top.
