Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- chopped nuts - 2 c
- flour
- butter - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- powdered sugar - 2 c
- orange juice - 1 c
- flake coconut - 1 c
- box dates - 1 oz
- Add eggs, one at a time
- orange slice candy - 1 lb
How to make orange slice cake:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour, soda and milk alternating each. Cut up dates and candy. Add fruit, coconut and nuts to batter. Bake in a tube pan at 250° for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. (Roll fruits in some extra flour before adding to cake.)Topping:1 c. orange juice2 c. powdered sugar Mix well. Pour over cake when taken from oven.
