  • sugar - 1 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • nuts optional - 1 c
  • oats - 3 c

How to make oatmeal cookies:

Cream shortening and sugars. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, salt and soda. Fold into creamed mixture. Stir in oats and nuts. Roll in small balls and place on a greased cookie sheet. Flatten with fork. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.
