  • black pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • mushrooms, sliced thin - 1/2 lb
  • barley - 1/2 c
  • beef broth - 4 c
  • large chopped yellow onions - 2 item
  • medium peeled and sliced carrots - 2 item

How to make mushroom barley soup:

Place all ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil over moderate heat. Simmer gently, partly covered, for 40 minutes or until barley is tender.
