Molasses sugar cookies

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 c
• cinnamon - 1 tsp
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• flour - 2 c
• soda - 2 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• ginger - 1/2 tsp
• cloves - 1/2 tsp
• light molasses - 1/4 c
• melted shortening - 3/4 c

How to make molasses sugar cookies:

Melt shortening; let cool. Add sugar, molasses and egg; beat well. Sift together the flour, soda, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and salt; mix well and chill. Form into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes.
