- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- all-purpose flour - 3 tsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- shredded cheese - 2 c
- cooked elbow macaroni - 3 c
How to make microwave macaroni and cheese:
Prepare macaroni; set aside. Melt butter in a 2-quart glass casserole in microwave (about 1 minute on High). Add flour, salt and pepper; mix well. Add milk gradually, stirring constantly. Cook, uncovered, for 6 minutes at High; stir every 2 minutes. Add cheese to sauce; stir. Cook, uncovered, in microwave 1 minute at High. Add cooked macaroni to cheese sauce; mix. Cook, uncovered, in microwave 8 minutes at Medium-high. Stir halfway through cooking period. Makes 6 servings.Recipe categories: Main dish, One Dish meal, Elbow macaroni.
